Finally!! I spotted 3 monarchs in our quarter acre goldenrod patch, noticed 1 do a fly by during the day. another showed up about 4:30 to roost in the same sweet gum used last year.
I wonder why, they use the same tree year after year? Prime location or do they sense monarchs have been there before?
We have had winds out of the north after some showers/cool front. winds 5 to 10 mph, temps highs in the 70's,lows in the 50's
