Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 10/18/2013

Number: 2

I still have the same 2 that have been around for the last week. One is an adult male that comes to feed from the feeder, only uses 1 feeder from the yard then seems to leave and goes out of my yard, always returns from the same position.

The other is an immature male, I think. I am beginning to see some gorget spots on sides under eye and in the middle under the throat. It, unlike the adult male, stays around the yard and is never in a rush to hurry away from the feeder. It likes the Coral Porterweed, Cape Honeysuckle, and Firecracker plants.
