Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/20/2013

Number: 729

During a three-hour trip, we counted 729 monarchs while driving on the highway from San Antonia to Del Rio (150 miles). Time:  9:30 am- 12:00 pm. Then there were hundreds along San Felipe Creek.  On the way home we saw fewer than 20!  It was a glorious monarch trip! I hope this report will "gladden the hearts" of all those who are so worried about the monarchs. I know so many are sad. (Of course this is just a small number considering the whole loss in numbers that they feel.)
