Our fourth grade class at Eisenhower Elementary planted 17 experimental Red Emperor tulip bulbs and 1 control tulip bulb today. We will be planting 2 more experimental bulbs on October 22, 2013. The soil temperature was 43 degrees Fahrenheit, and the air temperature was 53 degrees Fahrenheit. It was sunny and breezy today. The soil felt soft, moist, and cold. It was tough to dig holes that were 7 in. deep. We are excited to see our beautiful tulips in the spring!
