Whether the numbers tomorrow or over the successive 6 weeks will at any time exceed the numbers of today remains to be seen. I only got to count between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. today, but I had 141 monarchs crossing the backyard in 14 minutes, then moved to the front for the rest of the time.Just counted monarchs from 11:54 thru 12:53 and it looked like this:

248 in one hour passing over a spot that allowed me to see a field of vision like a half dome about 100 yards by 50 yards and about 70 yards up with occasional binoculars. Sky is mostly now clear and temps moving into low 80s.

Add these to the morning count from 11: 24 through 11:39 of 141 in the backyard where they are traveling right along the shelter of the bluff.

I had things I had to do before my initial start time, but think there were even more moving between 9:00 a.m. and 11:24. I had 22 monarchs cross the bank parking lot in just a few minutes and had to put off other tasks to run home and start counting!
