Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/21/2013

Number: 100

There were many Monarch Butterflies at the South Bass Island Light House on South Bass Island, Lake Erie Ohio. The butterflies were all in the trees and came out about noon eastern time until about 2:30pm. They would come out when the sun had warmed them up and fly high to get to the thermals and then fly south to the mainland across the Lake. I hope they all make it. It was actually cold only about 50 degrees so I was really surprised that they were even out and still migrating.
