When we planted our tulip bulbs, it was mostly warm but a little bit cool. We planted them 7 inches deep and 4 inches apart, the pointy side up, and next to our greenhouse. Rather than digging individual holes for each bulb, we dug one big trench and planted them inside. The soil in our garden was moist. There are other plants around our garden, so we were able to breathe fresh air.
