Bald Eagle

Date: 10/19/2013

Number: 1

My son, an avid bird-watcher, saw an immature Bald Eagle fly over his backyard this afternoon. It roosted overnight a block from his house, in an area known at "The Mount." He's very familiar with the appearance of these birds, as there are a number of them that roost and feed along the Delaware River near Trenton, NJ. Brian often spots them driving to and from work, as his route takes him along the Delaware River near their nesting areas. He said it had the appearance of a bird about four and a half yrs. old...some mottling still visible on the neck, but the head was mostly white. It departed at dawn on Sunday, 20 October.
