Three (3) beautiful Monarch Butterflies are relishing the butterfly milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa) flowers in the yard. They seem to have no wish to go migrating--yet! Initially they were just one, but since Sunday afternoon, they multiplied to three. They start visiting us as soon as the sun shines and warms the environment, and they stay late every evening. It's a butterfly haven in this yard, because there are several other species, too. However, their coloring is distinct, and we are certain of the Monarch count.
