We're getting a lot of rain here in KC so yesterday I put the guards on my Hummzinger feeder, which is the feeder Rufous feeds from, to help keep the rain water out. This morning as I was sitting on my couch by the big plate glass window Mr Rufous fed from the feeder on my shepherds hook just outside the window....he's NEVER eaten out of this feeder, always the far hummziner feeder. But I think with the guards on his regular feeder it has discouraged him and he is now coming to the other/closer feeder to eat. Once the rain stops i'll remove the guards from his feeder, but it was fun to watch him up close and from the comfort of my couch for a change! He's such a pretty little guy. Can't believe I still have a Hummer on Halloween!!
