Tulips PLANTED
Sightings report image

Date: 10/25/2013

Number: 1

We went to go plant tulips in our garden on October 25th, 2013. We used rulers, bulbers, and other digging tools. We planted our bulbs 18 centimeters deep. It was 59 degrees F in the air and 42 degrees F in the soil. It was cool and windy outside and there were tons of leaves on the ground. We found older, smaller, squishy bulbs in the soil when we were digging our holes. We saw some worms and rocks in the soil. The soil was hard to dig in and it was really hard to dig 18 centimeters deep. We put little sticks in the soil with our names on them, so we know which bulb is ours. We covered our bulbs up with netting so that squirrels and chipmunks won't be able to eat them. We are looking forward to seeing them bloom in the spring.
