Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 11/12/2013

Number: 1

First snow of the season today - we haven't had a hard frost yet here on Martha's Vineyard. Hummers were enjoying my Salvia Guaranitica, Butterfly Bush, and other flowers all fall but I haven't seen them for about a month - until today. There are a few straggling flowers left on my Salvia and I was very surprised to see the hummer out there, contrasted against the light snow. I've refilled my nectar feeder (although they never seemed to use it) and dusted some snow off the remaining Salvia blooms. I hope she gets south, soon!
