After counting over 40 monarch caterpillars within the last couple of weeks, I wondered where they had all hidden to form their chrysalis. This afternoon, I located 16 of them! One was on a tropical milkweed plant that had died back in last week's freeze. The others were hanging from a wooden ladders mounted on our wooden fence and on the wooden fence slats.
