I was sitting on my deck when I looked at my bird feeder about 30 feet away. There were junkos there and I noticed a hummingbird also. It circled the feeder and then flew across the deck about 7 feet in front of me, then banged into the window past me and then flew over the roof above me. I was so surprised, and it happened so quickly I didn't have time to take its picture. It is 30 degrees outside this morning. The house is about 100 yards from hood bay and very close to big beef creek. I'm new to Washington state and have recently taken an interest in bird watching.
