Bald Eagle

Date: 11/22/2013

Number: 1

I was driving through the newly picked cotton fields to work on McGougan Road between Balfour and Old Wire Roads at 7:10 am when I spotted an animal carcass on the side of the road (looked like a hunter butchered a deer and left the rest for the vultures). As I approached the carcass, a large, mature bald eagle lifted off from it and flew westward towards a woodlot. A beautiful sight.
