I was at the Lighthouse Field State Beach Overwintering Site in Santa Cruz, Calif. on Dec. 14 late in the afternoon in a warm day. Here is a 5 minute video I shot that shows some of the monarchs nectaring on the Australian blue gum eucalyptus trees blossoms plus some close up footage of the dense clusters of butterflies. Video also shows some Asclepias physocarpa tropical milkweedplants that were growing in a garden across the street from the overwintering grove and the two monarch chrysalids that I found on the plants.
