Bald Eagle

Date: 12/26/2013

Number: 1

Its the day after Christmas and I was off work today, and I opened my back door to see hundreds if not thousands of black birds in the back yard and trees and was amazed by the numbers. Suddenly they flew up as a swarm of bees and noticed that as they rose it altitude they suddenly swerved, and looked closer to see a larger bird emerge from the darkness and as I focused in, it dawned on me, my God, its a bald eagle. It came right at me, about 150 feet up, and kind of stopped and just hovered in the wind so effortlessly, its head so white and body kind of a charcoal color, but it looked straight down at me, kind of silly, but I waved, It was so majestic looking, and I was so excited, I had never seen one in the wild. I ran in the house to get my camera, but when I came out it was gone. My neighbor said that she thinks she has seen the nest and will show me where she thinks it is tomorrow. She said she has seen a couple huge nest over by the super Walmart in Shrewsbury, PA. because the trees are so bare this time of year, she said it really sticks out. I hope to see it again.
