This is actually the 2nd time I had a sighting. We had a Canadian goose froze in the ice for 2 1/2 days in the Oneida river in Brewerton, NY. He couldn't peck himself free. The ice was too thin to help save him, he became a meal for the eagle on 12/17/13. I think it is the same eagle that returned this morning perched in a tree in our yard, next to the river. What a beautiful sight! I've lived hear 45 years and have only seen a eagle 2 other times prior to these 2 sightings. When he was here on Dec 17th he stayed feeding for approximately 1 hour.
