Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 12/29/2013

Number: 1

Today I spotted four larva all on the milkweed which is still in full bloom. They were moved into my nursery tent and placed on other milkweed plants where they will be safe from the cold. I have eleven chrysalise in the tent and six very large caterpillars eating the plants. Todays larva is only days old. They hatched even in the very cold nights we have had in Pensacola. Seven days this month were in the 30's. The monarchs are still here but in very small numbers
