Sightings report image

Number: 2

We still have two sub adult Rufous and have found bright orange Cape Honesuckle in the garden centers blooming they like. One Rufous is very small with gray/greenish back and white front. The other is larger with brighter green back and more pale orange in front. This one is finally showing some feathers around back of neck to indicate a young male getting his Rufous feathers. The other one has more white on the front so may be a young female. The bubble wrap works so I don't have to bring the feeders in when in the upper 30's. The sun hits the feeders to warm the sugar water up also. Both Rufous love colder weather and move around a lot. They rarely chase each other around which surprise me.
See how tiny Rufous are in photo.
