Tulips PLANTED

Date: 01/07/2014

Number: 1

Our Second Grade GATE students planted 50 Red Emperor tulips today. We were excited! Some students planted in the morning when it was 26 degrees Farenheit, and the rest planted after lunch. It was 42 degrees Farenheit then. Our tulips were prechilled for 6 weeks before planting because the climate in Texas is warm. The ground was very hard so we added some potting soil in our holes. It was chilly! Our hands were freezing! We made sure the tips of our tulips were pointing up:) We loved all of it! We hope they will grow.
