Tulips PLANTED

Date: 11/22/2013

Number: 1

During the week beginning November 18, the first grade students from Eisenhower Elementary planted their tulip test garden. A couple of days during the week the weather was extremely cold and a couple of days it was very pleasant. On those days students didn't even need a coat! They took turns planting the bulbs, and enjoyed sharing the work gloves. About 175 bulbs were planted by the seven classes in our garden.
Second grade students chose a variable to alter in mini-test gardens. Some classes planted bulbs next to sidewalks. Some planted bulbs 10 inches deep (instead of 7) to see how this would affect the outcome of our experiment. We are excited to see the results this spring!
