On Jan 11 I visited the East Harbor Blvd overwintering site in Ventura, Calif. (south-central coast north of Los Angeles) around 2:30 pm in the afternoon when it was a fairly balmy 63 degrees F. There were about 3,000 monarchs there. Here's a 3 minute video that includes a lot of close up footage of the clusters.
