On Jan 12 I visited the Arundell Barranca monarch overwintering site in Ventura, Calif. (south-central coast north of Los Angeles) around 12:30 pm in the early afternoon when it was a balmy 71 degrees F. There were about 2,500 monarchs there. Here's a 3 minute video that includes a lot of close up footage of the clusters.
