Tulips PLANTED

Date: 01/21/2014

Number: 1

Mrs. O'Neill's third grade class, 3A planted 23 tulip bulbs today. The weather was slightly cold wind of 7 mph with a high of 60 degrees. We followed scientific protocol and planted tulips 7 inches deep and 4 inches apart and sprinkled bone meal in holes before we planted them. Students thought that the sprout on top of some of the tulips looked like a fang and the overall shape like a Hersey Kiss! Students think that the tulips will emerge in February, March, April or May. Students are excited to plant 5 or so tulips in an experimental plot where they don't have to follow protocol.
