I saw only one Monarch that was flying around a milkweed plant in my front yard. About a week later, I saw three caterpillars on the plant. They had eaten almost all of the leaves by the time I had to leave for a week at Christmas. They were not fully grown yet. When I returned on New Year's Day, they were gone. This was most unfortunate since the population is at an all-time low. I have not seen any more monarchs since then.
