Observed single ADULT BALD EAGLE, in a tree sitting in a tree overlooking Lake Champlain. Bird was not far from roadside of Route 9. Lake Champlain was partly frozen, and there were many duck species on the lake including merganser, mallard, and scaup. Also present were gulls. Eagle then took off and made spectacular dives and turns after the gulls or ducks in an attempt to get food.
