I had 3 Monarch's emerge from their chrysalis around Jan 20, 2014.
I had discovered a couple of chrysalis' and a couple of caterpillar's a few weeks earlier while i was putting my milkweed plants in the garage before a cold spell. 1 of the chrysalis turned black and was no good. The other emerged, and the cats turned and then hatched. So, when they emerged I turned them loose, but don't know what they found to eat since we had a freeze & I had no flowers.
The Monarch's never really left here.
