I couldn't resist this reporting because I was so excited about seeing overwintering butterflies in CA. We drove from Santa Barbara to Santa Cruz and stopped at many Euchalyptus groves. We saw monarchs roosting, flying, mating, sunning. At Pismo Beach we had to be careful walking because there were so many pairs on the ground. Awesome experience. Maybe the CA butterflies are the hope for the species.
