Approx. 80 (conservative) robins were gathered in a group of trees next to a parking lot. The ground has been snow-covered for days and the temperature at the time ( about 9 a.m. ) was 7 degrees F. In groups of 5-10, the birds would gather on the roofs of cars and appeared to be drinking the melting snow. The robins were very active and vocal. I did not notice any berry trees in the area. They did not disperse when I got out of my car, closed the door and walked fairly close to them.
