It has been extremely cold in this suburb of Buffalo NY and I was shocked to look out my window and see a tree full of robins. They were accompanied by a cedar waxwing and a few bluebirds. They were flying to a nearby culvert, which I thought was frozen, and then back to the tree. I don't know what kind of tree this was but it has very small red berries that seemed to be the draw. They stayed for a few hours and then they were gone.
