30 to 35 monarchs have spent the winter at Rio Salado Habitat Restoration in downtown Phoenix. Night roosts are in Goodding Willows and Cottonwoods, nectar includes Seep Willow, Sweetbush (Bebbia juncea), globemallow, arrowweed and more. We did not witness any breeding during the winter months. (Southwest Monarch Study)
