Thought I saw one maybe two yesterday (2/11/14 @ 4pm) in the cranberry trees of our front yard yesterday but they flew off to neighboring trees before I could grab my binoculars. However, stepping outside walking towards the trees it had taken flight to, I heard the familiar chirp that I look forward to every year. It was almost euphoric to hear yesterday as this has been one of the coldest and snowiest winter in a decade. There is no doubt, a least one, maybe a pair have arrived where I live in a rural area southwest of Decatur IL. I'll try to grab a pic today. I have noticed over the past week in general, I am hearing the beginnings of springtime bird activity in the mornings as the days lengthen.
