Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 02/01/2014

Number: 1

Robin numbers were highest ever recorded during our Christmas Bird Count, December 14, 2013. Since then, one cannot go a day without observing many in the LeSueur/Henderson area. Flocks of 100 plus are common. They are feasting on hackberry fruit, flowering crab apples, frozen wild grapes and most recently high bush cranberry fruits. European starlings by the hundreds, are in hot pursuit. Bluebirds and cedar waxwings are in company with the robins. We repeat, this has never occurred in our 60 years of bird watching.
