I found this dead Monarch when I was hiking with some friends. It looked like it just passed away. At the beginning I wasn’t sure if it was a Monarch, that is why I picked it up and brought it home to look at in some field guides. Sorry for the bad condition of the butterfly, but in that moment I didn’t have any suitable container to avoid the damage during the travel.
