Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 02/18/2014

Number: 1

This male monarch is one that spent the winter in a chrysalis on a potted citrus tree at my house. After emerging on the 15th, it stayed around my garden of pansies and fed for several days. It left when I was away from the house today so I do not know in which direction it flew off. The weather has warmed up to 40's at night and 50's and 60's during the day this week, after several weeks of 30's and 50's. I am concerned for it as it did not have a lot to eat before it formed the chrysalis and came out with rather small wings.
