I saw dozens and dozens of robins on Sunday (Feb. 23) while driving in the Champlain Valley for about 45 minutes. They appeared to be feeding in the open fields where snowmelt had recently occurred. I'm estimating 200 only to emphasize how widespread they were. I did count two dozen in my yard on a small (20' X 20') snow-free patch. There were none singing.
