Every spring, the return of the Rufous is worthy of celebration! When he first came into view and I saw that glorious combination of color, I knew the fun was just beginning. My beautiful, brilliant male Annas who spent the winter with me, wasted no time zooming in on our visitor and giving that bird a piece of his mind! Today, a whole new crew of brilliant Rufous males showed up and the air space over my deck is like Hummer International Airport! Next to arrive - the females and immature males. Welcome back, little friends!
