This has been one of the longest and coldest winters that we have experienced in a long time. We typically get cold snaps, even snow sometimes, but it doesn't last and we warm up quickly. This winter has been consistently cold, the milkweed froze and died (growth occurring again now) but I have seen no overwintering monarchs at all. This is very unusual and I'm not sure where they are. Whilst I almost always have a food source for them due to our temperate winters, we have had too many freezes this year and all my flowers are in winter mode. This has been a most unusual winter and I miss my friends. Looking forward to the migration.
