I have a bird-feeder in my yard and so I constantly observe birds around my backyard, my neighbors' backyards. While doing that today, I saw a Robin. It flew from a tree to the rooftop. Then, from the rooftop to a patch of dirt/ground that was exposed (not covered with snow/ice). A mockingbird was following it and flying after it. Why?
