Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 03/01/2014

Number: 1

We hear robins every morning now. Our class hears robins in two different types of habitat. One is open fields, by open salt water, and the other is mixed conifer forest with clearings. We have all heard the True Song, Whinny and Peek and Tut. The student who lives in open ground has heard the Seeeee call, which makes sense because there are a lot of eagles and hawks in his neighborhood.

I think they are just tuning up (rather than singing on territory). We've had really freakish weather here, with an unexpected foot of snow at the end of February. Seems like they just got going and then had to deal with snow, but now they are starting to rally again.
