We were very excited to see that two of our tulips had emerged! We had an ice storm about two weeks ago and we thought the ground was still too cold for the tulips to come up, but they surprised us. They were only about an inch tall, but we could see cracks in the ground where other tulips are about to emerge. The tulip leaves were green with a purplish edge.
