Hummingbird, Rufous (FIRST)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/10/2014

Number: 2

Here is the male Rufous(I think species)that has been here all winter. A couple of other hummingbirds came thru in Feb. and he had a fit about it when they stayed for a week or so chasing them around off the feeders. Then all of sudden I have a female something that has arrived and discovered him.(see next photo entry) They are both here getting along and what goes on,? is to be seen because I think courtship is taking place. So maybe it is another species that has arrived with male orange flanks also. But, it sits on the very same twigs,?? in the same American holly tree. Go figure as the say. He's to fast to photo up close.
