Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/06/2014

Number: 1

Editor's Note from Rocio Trevino
This is the first report of a sighting from Correo Real monitors. It may be that these butterflies were born in Monterrey, because during December, January and February I received news of the presence of caterpillars and pupae in some gardens milkweed of this city and surroundings. Were these monarchs born in Nuevo Leon? Or did they fly north fronm the overwintering sites in central Mexico? These are the two questions that I ask myself every year.

Monterrey, NL
