Tulips BLOOMED
Sightings report image

Date: 03/11/2014

Number: 1

Mrs. O'Neill's third grade class, 3A, were excited to see that 22 tulips had bloomed!!! All the tulips were leaning toward the sun. The leaves feel like rubber, they are large and become darker when you touch them. The red petals feel silky. We noticed that one tulip's petal were already turning dark red and black because it was an early bloomer and now past its prime. The tallest tulip was 30 cm and the shortest one was 16 cm. The widest bloom was 15 cm and the widest leaf was 14 cm. The longest leaf was 22 cm. Wow! Two flowers had a green stripe through it almost like it was part petal, part leaf. Another one had a mini petal in the middle and it looked like a tongue :)
