I noticed Monarch butterflies in my yard around the beginning of December 2013. A friend of mine in Massachusetts is religious about tracking them and providing breeding areas. So I started to plant milkweed. Presently (3/13), five adult butterflies have formed and I now have 16 caterpillars eating on the milkweed. They form their chrysalis in the rows of Mexican petunias that are planted near by. I am enjoying this very much and will continue to help with the process.
