Our eagles have landed! They DID come back...year two, that we're aware of.
Started watching for them at the end of Oct, but didn't spot one until the week before Christmas in the top of a huge, old sycamore near the creek. Then, late Christmas afternoon, we got to see BOTH adults, one in a tree and the other flying overhead.
Seldom spotted even one, but kept watching and finally saw both again, one circled overhead as we drove to church one Sun morning. Sometimes spotted one in the nest or around. New there gad to be a baby up above in the nest because of the observed movements of the adult in the nest. Got to see an adult regurgitate food, & seem to be feeding, but couldn't see the eaglet. Finally saw a fuzzy little gray head sticking up about 3 weeks ago. Sorry the pic is so tiny, but the little gray glib on the adult IS the eaglet's head!
Haven't seen much in werks. They're getting sneaky! If I look from a bit farther away, If I'm lucky, might get a quick look. At the best viewing spot, all that's usually seen is a disappearing adult head as all at home hunker down and play coy from the nosy gawkers. Will check again this weekend...
