I have been away for 2 months, but when I got back we had a lone robin standing for hours in the back garden. At first I thought there was something wrong as I was out and about tidying the garden without the robin flying away. But it became obvious that it as listening for grubs/worms!!!! It can fly off perfectly well but has chosen to hang around our garden. Today the birdbath is frozen [again] so I don't think there was much to be heard in the soil, but the robin was down there head cocked listening!
