Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/13/2014

Number: 1

The official leaving is now occurring. The flight of Monarchs is perfectly clear and heading Northwards. It was a real spectacle today--hundreds of Monarchs heading Northwards upon the central part of town. I hope it will repeat tomorrow for me to have the chance to catch as good photos.

On Tuesday (11 March), I could not observe it as a mass leaving, but yesterday (12 March), it seemed like it was. I thought yesterday that it could be only a big group of them coming down to town to drink water and to "open way" for the leaving, but I CAN CONFIRM THAT THIS (13 March) IS THE MASSIVE LEAVING!!!
