I was driving North on the West Shore Expressway at 9:00 AM on Thursday March 20, 2014. I was in the area of Fresh Kills when I saw the silhouette of what I thought was a vulture flying low in the sky from my right. When I focused in on it I saw that it had a white head. As it flew overhead a short distance in front of my car I could see the pointy peaks that the white feathers made as they overlapped its chest. It was very cool. This was the first time I have seen a bald eagle in New York.
